The SOBO WP-500H is a reliable and budget-friendly hang-on-back (HOB) filter designed for small to medium aquariums. With efficient multi-stage filtration and a compact design, it keeps your tank water clean and oxygen-rich with minimal maintenance.

🧱 Filter Media Setup (Recommended Order)

  1. Coarse sponge (mechanical)

  2. Fine sponge / Activated carbon cartridge (chemical + basic biological)

  3. Ceramic rings / bio-balls (boost biological filtration)

  4. Fine filter wool (optional – for crystal-clear water)

👉 For shrimp tanks, add a sponge pre-filter on the intake.

🔧 How to Install

  1. Hang the filter on the side/back of the aquarium.

  2. Attach the inlet pipe inside the tank and fix the rain bar outlet.

  3. Fill filter chamber with a little tank water for easier priming.

  4. Plug in and switch ON – water circulation will begin.

  5. Adjust flow to suit your aquarium type.

🧼 Maintenance

  • Rinse sponge every 2–3 weeks using aquarium water.

  • Replace activated carbon every 3–4 weeks (if used).

  • Rinse ceramic rings or bio-balls gently, do not replace all at once.

  • Clean spray bar & inlet pipe to prevent blockages.
